Christmas Gifts - The Grinch Version

Last year I was up until Midnight (or later) in the days leading up to the school's holiday break, sewing away on teacher gifts. And this year... it isn't even December 1st yet and I am DONE!

Grinch Snack Mats

I started with 3 panels of Robert Kaufman's How the Grinch Stole Christmas and loaded it up on my longarm. The quilting went quickly. And I was able to use up a bunch of batting scraps. A quick project that uses supplies I have on hand... I was pretty proud of myself.

And then I got to the binding. Goodness... what kind of crazy was I when I thought hand-stitching the binding on 16 snack mats was a good idea?!? I was stitching everywhere... while watching TV, on the bus to/from work, riding shotgun while hubby drove here and there, in the theater waiting for a movie to start... and I finally put the last stitch in the last mat on Thanksgiving morning.

I think we're going to add a bit of my (almost) world-famous chocolate-caramel snack mix with each, so I guess that means I'm not totally done. But at least I can get Megan (and Chris) to help me in the kitchen with that.

I'm linking up to ALYoF (November goal post here.)

Very cute. I got a panel of Nancy Drew fabric and a charm pack that I am ready to do something with.
