Pick a Bunch Quilt

Gosh, it feels like I've been away from this space forever! I've been busy sewing. Mostly I've been working on the 10,000 swaps I've signed up for over the last couple of months. And some day soon I'll write up a post or two about all the fun goodies I've made (and received). But I was also able to squeeze in finishing a quilt.

Pick a Bunch

If you think you've seen this quilt before, you're kind of right. Back in April I went to The Stash Bash and pieced together a quilt top from a Jelly Roll of Kate Spain's Daydream. The next weekend we had the Houston Modern Quilt Guild retreat and I decided to make another quilt top from the same pattern. This time I used a Roll Up of Pick a Bunch by Nancy Mims for Robert Kaufman.

Pick a Bunch

I love the purple flowers on the back! Have you heard of 5bucksayard? I love the shop... she stocks closeout fabric bolts, at awesome closeout prices. I bought this organic yardage for $3.99 a yard. And she's local to me, so I ordered in the morning and picked it up that afternoon!

Pick a Bunch

I went a bit rouge on the binding. Even though I had enough yardage of a couple of the prints from the line, I just wasn't in love with any of them. So instead I went with a light blue floral from My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow collection.

Pick a Bunch

I think this quilt is going to be a gift (yay me for being ahead of the game!)

oh I LOVE both versions of the quilt! Am I correct in that you cut your strips 12.5" in length? I'm trying to figure it out so I can do one - I have an oldie but goodies jelly roll that would be great with this pattern.

Thanks!
