A Lovely Year of Finishes - June Goal

I haven't been able to get the idea of a beach quilt out of my head!

As a kid, summer meant one thing in our house... a family trip to Port Aransas TX. We would spend a week, or two, living just steps from the beach. There would be sun, the pool, the Gulf of Mexico, beach walks (often to a great little beach restaurant for breakfast), lots of reading, evening card games, buying shrimp directly off the shrimp boats, snowcones, Thursday night bingo...

And now my daughter has started asking (and asking, and asking...) to go to the beach. We're way too late to book at my home-away-from-home in Port Aransas, but I think we might still be able to arrange a few days in Galveston soon.

So, what better time than now to cut into my collection of Seaside fabrics for the best-ever beach quilt!

What lovely fabrics that will be a lovely quilt. And what a great reason to make one too! The beach is wonderful, I live in a town that has beaches (on the North Sea) and I grew up with going to the beach when the weather was nice, which sometimes is only a few days in the year in my country (The Netherlands), great memories. We went to Galveston for the first time during our Texas trip in April, took a dolphin tour, had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack, it was a great day.Hope you have a wonderful time and can't wait to see the quilt!

Those are great fabrics for a beach quilt. And what special memories. Have fun making your goal. It will be a big part of lots of new memories, I'm sure.
