Handmade Holidays - Round 2

After finishing up the gifts for Megan's school I still had a few days before Christmas... just enough time to finish up a few handmade gifts for friends and family.

First up was the Houston Modern Quilt Guild holiday party and our annual ornament exchange. I ended up two partners this year, and I knew EXACTLY what I was going to make for both!

House Ornament made for HMQG Swap
Gabby loved the houses I made last year (and had one in her mosaic), so there was never any other choice for her.

Bird made for HMQG ornament swap
Debbie loves birds, and has a bird-themed Christmas tree... another easy decision on what to make.

A couple of days before Christmas I had a delightful dinner out with a few friends. And you can't do Christmas dinner without gifts, so I made up a few grocery bags with the adorable vegetable fabric I had leftover from the backing of my Double Disappearing Nine Patch quilt. I really wish I had a tiny bit more of this fabric to make one of these for me!

And finally, a little something for Megan. I whipped this pillow case up Christmas Eve for Megan to open before heading off to bed.

Christmas Cowgirl Pillowcase... and with that gifts are done! #handmadeholidays

But I didn't just give handmade gifts this year... I also received some really wonderful, and thoughtful, handmade gifts.

New additions to my tree thanks to my super-talented #HMQG friends... Sewing Machine by @smazoochie Reindeer by @gabriela_cast Mitten by Rebekah and Doxie by @fatchickquilts
Sewing Machine by Beth, Reindeer by Gabby, Mitten by Rebekah, and Doxie by Liz. And no pictures yet, but I also received a voile scarf and an awesome cross-stitch kit.
