Schnitzel and Boo Mini Quilt Swap

I really do try to limit the number of swaps I join. Not that I don't like swaps, but there's just not enough hours in the day to do it all. But when I saw Kristi putting together a mini quilt swap on Instagram, I couldn't resist.

Well, imagine my surprise when I got my partner assignment and found out I would be sewing for my (in real life) friend Jacey. Jacey has an amazing style and a wonderful eye for putting together colors and patterns. I think I emailed Kristi back with something like "crap... this is going to be hard (in a really good way)!

I knew something super-scrappy would be in order, and after seeing Kate's Asterisk quilt on Instragram, my pattern was picked! I pulled lots of fabrics... yellow, navy blue, orange, and grey... and finally decided to go with some Art Gallery (the orange and yellow asterisks), Cloud 9 (blue asterisk) and lots and lots of "low volume" prints for the background.

I LOVE how it turned out!

Schnitzel and Boo Mini Quilt Swap

I totally thought Jacey figured out I was her partner a few weeks ago. She, Kristan, and I were taking a break at Quilt Market and talk turned to swaps and this swap in particular. At one point Jacey jokingly asked if I was her partner, and being the TERRIBLE liar that I am, all I could do was stammer for a moment and then change the subject to the Pillow Talk Swap. But I guess being overwhelmed by all that is Quilt Market was a good cover, because Jacey insists she was surprised to find a package from me in her mailbox.

And this weekend I received a package from my partner... purple maple blocks, chocolate, Christmas coasters, and some Bonnie & Camille fabric... such a perfect package!

@laurel_langworthy I love my quilt and goodies!! Purple, kitties, chocolate... Perfect!! Thanks! #schnitzelandboominiquiltswap

A big thanks to Kristi for organizing such a fun swap!

Love your little mini-quilt. The one you got in return is cute too. We are making maple leaf blocks for our charity project at AMQG.
