A Lovely Year of Finishes - September Goal

September always seems to sneak up on me. I'm never quite ready for summer to be over... work picks up, traffic gets a little bit crazier, and it seems before I know it the holidays are here. Of course here on the Texas Gulf Coast, with temps still hanging out near 100 degrees, it will still feel like summer until November.

For this month's A Lovely Year of Finishes goal I've picked another lingering WIP. I picked up these fabrics at Fall Quilt Market last year. A friend and I shared a 1/2-yard bundle purchased from Art Gallery's booth on the last day of market. And I started working with the fabrics right away... within a week or so I had a completed quilt top. And then it sat... What would I use for backing? and binding? How would I quilt it? I'll just put it aside for a few days while I figure that all out...

September ALYoF Goal

So here I am, 10 months later, finally with backing in hand (50% off sale at Fat Quarter Shop last month) and a plan for quilting (all-over meander on the long-arm) and I'm ready to get this one done. Still haven't figured out binding, but my LQS has started carrying some of the Art Gallery basics and I'm sure I'll be able to find something there.

I love Art Gallery fabric. Such a nice feel to it. I have f.q.'s from two different lines that I am using for two of my granddaughter's quilts.
