Casserole Carrier

I've had a casserole carrier on my to-sew list for a while. But since my go-to pot luck dishes are Chocolate Caramel Snack Mix and a supper-yummy spinach salad, I really don't have a need for a casserole carrier. So when I spotted Pyrex casserole dishes on a friend's wedding registry I knew my opportunity had arrived.

I followed the tutorial at 2 Little Hooligans (overall a good tutorial, although it would have been a little easier to follow if different fabrics were used for the outside and inside... I kept fearing I was going to get my pieces flipped... but it all worked out in the end.) I'll probably use her instructions again, but next time I'll figure out something different for the handles... my big Janome (with the even-feed foot and a jeans needle) HATED sewing through those final pieces. I might try cotton webbing, or something else that's been rattling around in my brain.

Now I need someone to put the round Corningware baking dishes on their registry so I have a reason to try out THIS pattern.

Man you cannot go wrong with FMF. Everything looks good made with DS fabric.
