Craftsy: Quilt As You Go Patchwork Bags

Early last month Tara put out a call for people to watch and review her new Craftsy class "Quilt-As-You-Go Patchwork Bags". I love quilt as you go (QAYG) and jumped at the chance. I intended to watch the class right away... then life got crazy (as it tends to do.) But that's the great thing about Craftsy classes, they're ready when you are!

I finally finished up watching the class over the weekend, and wow... what a fantastic class! The projects are fun, the tips are great, and Tara is as cute as can be. The class starts out with instructions for making a pot holder, which is a great introduction to QAYG. And from there you move onto the Tinker Tote. I really loved how the tote bag is broken down into six classes - every part of the bag construction is covered in detail, with nothing left out. And there are even lots of options (bag bottom options, pocket options, binding options).

I didn't have time to make the Tinker Tote (it is on my to-do list!), but I did want to play with a little QAYG after watching the class. Using a Cloud9 charm pack I picked up somewhere (probably Quilt Market), I whipped up a little pillow.

LOVE my new QAYG pillow!

A little extra Cloud9 fabric on the pillow back.

Stay tuned... as soon as I get my fabric scraps under control, there will be a Tinker Tote in the works!

That class looks great for a novice pursemaker like myself.
