Not only do I have two quilt
finishes for September, but both are
Magic Number quilts.
After making a test block for the do. Good Stitches quilt, I went through my scrap bins and cut loads of 2.5", 4.5" and 6.5" squares. It was a lot of cutting, but hubby and I were watching
The IT Crowd on Netflix and the time passed quickly (have you seen it? If not, you NEED to!! It is funny... like laugh-so-hard-you-have-trouble-breathing-and-tears-are-streaming-down-your-face funny!)
I had planned on quilting this on mom's long-arm machine when I went to
NH this summer. But with only 3 days there, and lots of family I hadn't seen in years, I didn't want to be locked away in the sewing room for hours. So I left it with mom, and she quilted it for me.
She used a lovely light green thread on it... nothing too dramatic, but just a little something more than a plain white or off-white.
For the backing I used a print from the Flower Bucket collection (I've used
this line before for backing and love them!) And the
binding again is the grey seeds from the re-release of Flea Market Fancy.

Love the magic number quilt. I am going to have to try it sometime.
Love it - it's gorgeous!
Super scrappy L-O-V-E!
What a great scrappy quilt!!! :) The colors are so bright and bold, yet manage not to fight each other. Well done!
And that quilted heart...precious!!!

What Amanda said - about the color choice and the quilted heart. That magic numbers looks like a really fun pattern, and I love the way this one turned out.
