...turned into inspiration for the June quilt in do. Good Stitches Grace circle.

The top is made from 16 14-inch blocks and finishes at about 56" square.

2 more blocks were pieced into the backing fabric (Fern print from Ellen Crimi-Trent's Woodland Friends II collection).
After lots and lots of thought, I finally decided to give free-motion quilting a try. I've done some FMQ on my mom's long-arm machine, and some pebble quilting on a wallhanging, but nothing like this before. So I was a little nervous starting out. But I put on some good music and took off.

Is it perfect? NO
Was it easier than I thought? YES
Am I ready to try it again? YES

It looks great! FMQ gets easier every time you do it, just keep at it. :). Funny thing is I was thinking of using this block for my month in my do. Good. Stitches circle. Must mean its a good one. I love how it turned out.
Absolutely PERFECT. It turned out so gorgeous. I love that you made it a square quilt. PERFECT.
It turned out really cute. I like the pieced back. The Austin Modern Quilt Guild is having a class on piecing backs at our next meeting. We are all watching the mini-course by Elizabeth Hartman on Craftsy. If you have not seen it try to get to it. It is free and she shares a lot of great tips.
