The Farmer's Wife QAL || Week 1

I really tried to pass on this one... a year long quilt along... 111 quilt blocks... that's some commitment! But then the pictures started popping up on Flickr and I couldn't resist.

Rather than going with scrappy blocks I thought it would be fun to give it a try with a range of Kona colors. And I just happen to have a FQ set of the Kona blues (although now I've read that completing all the blocks will take 10 to 11 yards of fabric... guess I better get another FQ set!)

My first 2 blocks:
I picked these because they looked fun, and I didn't need the templates for them (just didn't feel like using them right now.) I'm sure I'll continue to pick blocks at random... sewing whatever strikes me at the time.

Nice. I like your solids. I was everywhere with my fabric. I only did 50 blocks for the laptop and called it a day.

That's brave to do a sampler in solids. I can't wait to see how this will turn out!
