Project Life Week 16

April 17 - April 23

She bearly fits, but Krystal loves the kitty bed I won at the G&G raffle.

Yes... Another fat quarter set of Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush. I can't believe how much this line has grown on me!!

Megan's coloring skills have been getting so much better!

Krystal loves to sit in the box and watch the going-ons in the living room.

The Easter magnet Megan made at school.

I made 10 pillowcases (from 12 yards of fabric pulled from my stash).

A FANTASTIC package arrived Saturday from my Make Mike Modern partner.

I've had some great swaps on Flickr recently.

Megan with her zipper pouch made by my Sewing Buddy Rachel.

My first (and second) attempt at zippers.

The most addictive chips ever...

HMQG Project Park

Today was Show-n-Tell day for the Houston Modern Quilt Guild 'Project Park' challenge. Each participant used 1 charm pack of Kate Spain's Central Park and up to 1/2 yard fabric (plus backing and binding) in their creation.

I made a table runner and had some fun taking pictures of it this morning.

HMQG Project Park

We had a wide variety of projects... quilts, table runners, sewing machine cover, little girl's skirt, pet bed, tote bag... what a talented group we have!

Conquering the Zip!

Earlier this year I signed up with Whipstitch's Sewing Buddy program and was paired up with a wonderful Buddy - Rachel. Through our emails we both discussed our lack of experience with zippers, and Rachel came up with the great idea of a challenge for us... a zipper project swap! Rachel's super-cute Watermellon clutch arrived yesterday. She made it for Megan and even included an embroidered 'M' (and I got some UK chocolate!) Megan loves it... I think even if Rachel hadn't made it for Megan, she would have laid claim to it.

Megan & her new Zipper Pouch

I enjoyed making Rachel's clutch, but I'm still not 100% comfortable with zippers. A little more practice, and maybe a lesson from some of my local sewing-peeps, and I'm sure I can get the hang of these.

Innocent Crush Zipper Pouches

I was supposed to have Rachel's item in the mail earlier this week, but a Spring cold has had me knocked out since Sunday. It is going out tomorrow... Better late than never, right?

Project Life Week 14

April 3 - April 9

Quilt made for a charity donation.

I don't think Krystal approves of my starting a new project with so many that still need to be finished.

Bee packages ready for the mail.

Megan 0 : Playground 1

I love the binding tool... it takes a little getting used to, but I've never had binding finish off so well!

I love to read, but these last couple of years I just haven't been able to find the time.

I couldn't believe when I saw this billboard along Hwy 59... I've never had friends on a billboard!

I'll be linking up at The Mom Creative Tuesday.

Quilting my donation for Modern Relief Japan raffle.

New fabrics arrived today and 2 projects are in the works... I love this line!

Megan loves the hairbows grandma gave her!

Daddy wouldn't let her join him outside while he was grilling dinner... Life is so unfair.

Waking hours at home today: 5:30 - 7:00am, 5:45 - 6:15pm, 11:00pm - midnight. Snapped this on the way to bed... gotta be up at 5:00am.
