Where to Start?

Do you ever get to the point where you have so many projects going that you don't even know where to start?

Looking around my sewing area tonight I see:

The Bliss quilt I wanted to have finished last month...

September Fresh Modern Bee...

SavVy Seasons Swap Project...

Arm Splints for Operation Smile (I ran out of serger thread)...

Megan's backpack that needs to be fixed after the dog chewed off the straps...

And then there's the Pinwheel Sampler... the Jelly Roll Quilt Along... the Charm Pack Quilt Along... 12 Days of Christmas BOM (three months behind now)... Summer Lovin' block of the week...

I think I need a weekend quilting retreat... time for nothing but sewing (and getting caught up on projects)

Teddy Bear Picnic

I found out Thursday afternoon that Megan's class was having a party Monday, and all the kids were asked to bring their Teddy Bears with them to school. So a quick trip to Hancock Fabrics + my favorite go-to pattern (CarlaC's A-Line) and Megan was ready for the party!

Week 38 Stash Report

I had some fund playing with non-traditional Christmas colors this weekend.



I've joined the SavVy {Seasons} Swap on Flickr and these may be the fabrics I use for my partner (she requested no red & green color combos). I still don't know what I'm going to make, but it sure was fun playing around with such bright colors!

Week 37 Stash Report

Nothing to report in the "out" column this week... I've been working away on some much-neglected projects. My goal is to get caught up on these before starting anything new.



In the "in" column this week are 3 yards of Tranquality. I'll use this as the borders and binding for KarrieLyne's Charm Pack Quilt Along. Any left over will probably get pieced into the backing. Well, except for a little bit that I'll turn into a new camera strap slipcover.

Fresh Cottons Baby Quilt

I went to a baby shower today that had a very special guest... the sweet baby girl arrived a little early and was able to attend the shower thrown for her mommma.

I made a little quilt for the baby girl. I'm in love with this quilt... it went together so quickly, is the perfect size for a tummy-time mat, and those Fresh Cottons fabrics (by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda)... I love it all!

Week 36 Stash Report

While in Tulsa I was able to sneak out during nap time and visit a couple of quilt shops.

The first shop was small, cramped and hot. But I did find this cute Alexander Henry halloween fabric. I'll probably make Megan something for Halloween... maybe one of CarlaC's A-Line tops. (the 2 Fat Quarters came from JoAnns, and coordinate with some Halloween fabric I bought at Quilt Festival last year.)

The second shop was incredible! I found so much there that I wanted. So much that I couldn't make up my mind what to buy and I left empty handed. But after a little thought I went back a couple of days later and bought some Authentic and a Quiltsmart pattern.

Any ideas on what I should make with this?

I already know what fabric I'm going to use for this!

And the day before we left I ran out of thread to baste hexagons, so we made a stop at JoAnns... just for thread... well, that was until Megan found the Princess fabrics. She wants a blanket and a pillow...

What I did on my Summer vacation...

We just got back from a road trip to Tulsa OK. I knew that would mean about 20 hours in the car, so I packed a traveling hexagon box for the trip.

Over the 6 days I was able to get 173 hexagons basted. It would have been more, but we had some wicked weather coming home, and I was too freaked out to release the death-grip I had on the door handle.

This now brings me to 978 hexagons - over half way there! Maybe I should think about starting to sew these together.
