168 4-patches...


I started with 42 4-patches and a different idea. But I didn't like how it was coming along, so I made a few more 4-patches and a started on new idea.

Now to turn some of these 4-patches into 16-patches.

Week 30 Stash Report

Not a whole lotta fabric moving in or out this week. But I did get a couple of things checked off my to-do list.

I was able to piece together another bee block, get Block of the Week 8 completed, and sew together a couple of blocks for Trudy's Arse Kicking Quilt. And then there was this...

... KarrieLyne's quilt-along. 75 print charms + 75 white charms = 150 half-square triangle blocks. And it took 2 nights to get them trimmed and squared up. Boy am I glad that's over!!

Week 29 Stash Report

Not a bad week... Block of the Week 7 is done, Siggy Block for KarrieLyne is done, Charm Pack Quilt Along squares are cut, I began work on a project (that I'm not yet ready to show), and I finally finished the Plume Puppy.

I'm going out of town in a couple of weeks. And while I'm excited about the trip, I'm really sad that Megan and Chris won't be going with me. I'll be gone 9 days!!! So far the longest I've been away from Megan is about 30 hours!!!

So this little puppy will be a gift for Megan while I'm gone.

Another Quilt Along

I've signed up for another quilt-along.... this one is hosted by KarrieLyne and we'll be making blocks similar to Jacob's Ladder.

I decided to cut into the fat quarter stack of Tranquality by Sandy Gervais that Chris bought me for my birthday. Wow - this is a huge collection... 49 prints plus a panel. I'll have lots left over after this quilt along is done.

Summer Lovin' Block of the Week

Summer Lovin' Block of the Week is half way through.

I've never been a fan of mystery blocks/quilts... I really have a hard time committing when I can't see the final project... but I took a chance on this (and on the 12 Days of Christmas Mystery Block of the Month from Fat Quarter Shop) and I'm loving it so far.

Week 28 Stash Report

Kind of a slow week around here... but I was able to get caught up on blocks for Quilter's Emporium Block of the Week, Jelly Roll Quilt Along, and Fresh Modern Bee.


But since the Jelly Roll Quilt Along fabric has already been counted as "out" and Fresh Modern Bee block was made with fabric sent to me, all I have out for this week is block #6 for Summer Lovin' Block of the Week.

And "in"... it wasn't going to be anything until I made an early-morning stop at a local quilt shop yesterday. I really don't know why I don't shop at this store more often... they have lots of modern fabrics and still have loads of out-of-print fabrics in stock. I spent way too long trying to decide what I NEEDED... and in the end I picked up 2 yards Urban Chiks 1974 collection (maybe borders if/when I make something with the 1974 layer cake I have) and 2 fat quarters of birds from Urban Chiks Sweet collection.

Week 27 Stash Report

For the first time since mid-May I had more fabric out than in! Okay, so it isn't much in either direction, but a positive is a positive!

In addition to finishing Grandpa's birthday quilt (talked to him Friday, and he loves it), I finally made up the June Designer Block of the Month from Fat Quarter Shop. It has been a while since I made a block with so many pieces. But I love the way it came out, and can't wait for the next one.

I also finished up week 4 & 5 for Quilter's Emporium Block of the Week. Pictures of those will come later... I just realized I'm missing pictures of week 3's block.

Lots of new fabrics arrived in the shop this week... the full line of Sanibel by Heather Peterson & Deb Mulder and part of Castle Peeps by Lizzy House (I hope the remaining 5 bolts will arrive soon!) Here's my little warehouse manager... she helps me bring in the boxes, unpack them, and remove the plastic wrap. She even helps me put away the bolts when I'm working on orders. Now if only she was old enough to cut those orders for me!
