Hope he enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it! And we can't wait to see him (and the rest of the family) later this summer.

Week 26 Stash Report
Thursday evening my mom and I headed up to the North side of town to see Cherri House and Lizzy House present at It's A Stitch. It was so wonderful to hear Cherri talk of her quilting inspiration and Lizzy talk of how she got her start in fabric design. I also got to finally meet Dianne face-to-face.
Even though we got home late, and I had to be up early the next morning, I spent some time Thursday night flipping through Cherri's book City Quilts. The quilts are amazing... the information on quilting and inspiration are fabulous... but my favorite part of the book is the love for Houston!
Yes - Houston is hot and humid, we have hideous traffic and all the other problems of a major city, but looking at the city through Cherri's book and her quilts was an amazing experience. I'm sure I'll be looking at our city in a new way.

Week 25 Stash Report
I was really stuck on what to make, and then I remembered this fantastic quilt by Camielle Roskelley made from an Arcadia Honey Bun and her mini-Jelly Filled pattern. I happened to have both, so I jumped in.

So Larry's quilt and Grandpa's quilt were pretty much my sewing for the week. And on the shopping side I picked up a couple of things at a new-to-me quilt shop Mom and I went to Saturday... supercute shop that is also a dealer for Gammill long arm machines.

Happy Father's Day Larry!
Sorry for the poor quality pictures... I pulled it from the dryer around 9:00 this evening, snapped a couple of quick shots and packaged it up for FedEx'ing to OK tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will arrive at Grandpa's restaurant before they close up Friday afternoon.
The finished quilt ended up being 61" x 77" (before quilting and washing). The main piece is made from a Jelly Roll of Migration by Moda, the borders are Essential Dots by Riley Blake Designs, and the backing and binding are Kona Sweet Pea. Quilted (by me) on my mom's long-arm machine.

Week 24 Stash Report
The quilt in the picture is part of my fabric out this weekend. I spent some time Saturday at my mom's house using her long-arm machine. Freehand loops are the extent of my long-arm repertoire - but hey, this was only my 5th time on the long-arm machine (and the last time was over a year ago.) This made me want my own long-arm machine even more!!
In this week included: some fabrics to make outfits for Megan, a Block of the Week and a Block of the Month, and a fat quarter set of Tufted Tweets (still kicking myself for passing on this line for my store... don't worry, I'll be ordering her next line coming out later this year.)
Out this week included: backing and binding for the quilt, a swim suit I made Megan, and the Block of the Week. (I'll post pics of the quilt and swim suit later this week.)

Summer Lovin' Block 2
I loved putting this block together! We made the same block in the PS I Quilt Pinwheel Quiltalong using half-square triangles, but this version was so much easier! And with fewer pieces there was less worry about matching up points.
2 blocks down... 10 more to go...

The Pillow Talk {Swap} - Round 3
Here's what I started with... For the pillow I sewed together 12 charm squares and added on a border.

After cutting out all my pieces, here's what I was left with...

Week 23 Stash Report
What did I buy this week? Some Jennifer Paganelli Poodle for a skirt (for me!), yardage of Cherish Nature to go with a fat quarter set I have (this will become a quilt), the fabrics for week 1 of Summer Lovin', and a yard of Fresh Cottons to use in the Pinwheel quilt.
And out? Only the Summer Lovin' block.

Summer Lovin' Block of the Week
I picked up block 1 today. I also got a short look at the finished quilt and it is going to be great... full of bright summer colors.

And the best part of this program... if I bring the completed blocks back to the shop on time each week, I'll be able to complete the whole quilt top for $37!!
Can't wait to take this block back Monday and get the next one.
