I don't think I've ever spent 4+ hours on one quilt block... until today.
I saw this block, loved it, and thought it would be a quick and easy star to make for this month's Fresh Modern Bee. I even started thinking of fabrics I could use to make a quilt for myself out of this block.
I started late this morning by drawing out the 5 sections. Then after lunch I started sewing... and ironing... and sewing... and ironing... and I L.O.V.E how it turned out!!
I'm almost too embarrassed to return the "extra" fabric to this month's Bee host... she sent 4 fat-eights of the prints and a fat-quarter of solid fabric... and there really are only scraps left.

I think it would have taken me 4 hours to draw it!! It really is pretty
Wow!! Did you design that yourself?! I love it!!
Those paper pieced blocks sometimes take longer than you think huh? Mine took quite a while too and I didn't have many scraps to return either. Part of the downfall of paper piecing.
I do as well.
This block is stunning. And I'm glad to hear you used up most of your fabric too. I thought there would be lots left over and I was shocked at how much of it I used.
Wow- I REALLY love it. If those had been my fabrics, I really wouldn't have cared what came back to me!
It looks fabulous, but that is a long time for one block. Yikes!
I love this, its great!! Mine took me about 4 hours to make too lol. Good thing she only asked for one block from us.
FABULOUS!!!!! Love it!
I have to say that this is one of my all time favourite blocks and your post really made me laugh!
