I've admired pictures of hexagons and hexagon quilts on Flickr for some time now, but never really thought of starting some myself. But then in January I had to make a last minute road trip that would put in riding in the car for 12+ hours over a couple of days. I knew I wouldn't read much during that time, so I wanted something else I could work on... HEXAGONS!

It really did turn out to be a good project to work on in the car. I could baste the pieces and still talk to the others in the car.

So now I'm about half way through a Jelly Roll, but I have no idea what I'm going to do with them. I really love this, but all those extra white hexagons - I don't think I'd ever finish the quilt! I also really like this and this and this.

So for now I continue making hexagons and hope inspiration strikes me soon.

Wow that's a lot of work!!! But I am sure it will be worth it! Can't wait to see it all done!

That IS a lot of work! You could make flowers...and then just put the flowers together with no white middles...would that work?

I love them! I agree...wait until you feel inspired. The good thing about hexagons is that they keep until you need them. :)
